Peace, Love, and Sisterhood is a project designed to empower young ladies who are at an impressionable age.  This project began in 2011 as a provisional class project. The focus is on teaching self-respect, respecting others, making better choices, goal setting, and accountability for young girls.  Monthly activities include monthly birthday celebrations along with fun activities which also provide a life skill.  This committee engages with the girls at Hooper Dorm, a local residential care facility located on the grounds of MacDonell Methodist Children’s Home for females between the ages of 10-17. The program is set up to foster a resident’s independence, self-esteem, uniqueness and mutual respect in a supportive environment.  Being a consistent part of the girls lives is a very important goal and hopefully making a lasting impression on them as well as they transition into the next stages of their lives.
