The provisional class of 2016 originally started this project with the goal to connect local students to local law enforcement agencies. The need for a project like this was obvious with tensions high nationwide. Our local law enforcement agencies were thrilled at the idea and supported it every step of the way. As another local organization, Concerned Citizens for the Community was kind enough to donate a fun photo booth for the event as well. On event day students made thank you cards and presented them to the officers. They also played sports, shared snacks, laughs, and stories together. They painted rocks with positive sayings to be placed within the community. Most importantly they all came together to show support for one another. The project went so well that it was adopted as apermanent service project the next year. We are happy to say that this project will be active in more than one school this year, with the goal to continue to grow in our local community.
