Friends of SEC started out as a provisional project in 2014. They library at the School for Exceptional Children in Houma was completely renovated. It's amazing what fresh paint, colorful murals, art supplies and kid friendly furniture can do. The children and staff at SEC use the library for meetings and also class activities. A ribbon cutting occurred on November 4, 2014 to reveal the new "Under the Sea" library.

The partnership of Junior Auxiliary and SEC has continued. Junior Auxiliary has volunteered to help out at several events in the past years including their Christmas event, story time with the kids and SEC Prom. Recently, members donated their time on a Saturday to freshen up the flower beds on campus as well.
